Library Services

Your Library Card

Any Burlington resident may obtain a library card. Just visit the library to fill out a short application form. Proof of residency is requested at time of application. Library cards are good for three years from the date of issue and can be used at any public library in the state of Connecticut. If your card has expired, don’t throw it away! We will update it for you. Replacement cards are $2.00.

Borrowing Privileges, Fines and Fees

Burlington patrons are fine free in our library. This courtesy is extended only for materials borrowed from the BPL. Fines are still applied to Museum Passes at a rate of $25 per day.

All materials, except museum passes, may be renewed twice unless another patron has a hold on the item. You may renew materials in person, over the phone, or online.

Computer Services

The library has computers available for public use. Patrons may use the library computers for internet research, and Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher are available. Computer printouts are .20 cents per black and white page and .50 cents per color page.

Interlibrary Loan

If you are looking for an item that we do not have in our library, we can locate it in another library and have it sent to us. Fill out an Interlibrary Loan Request Form, available at the front desk, for this service.

Meeting Rooms

Burlington community groups or groups with Burlington members may also use the room.
