Greetings Readers and Happy Summer!

As you gear up for a busy summer full of vacations, camps and other fun activities, we hope that you will keep us in mind for your local entertainment! This summer, we invite you all to embark on an 8-week adventure with our Summer Reading theme, Adventure Begins at Your Library! Our program line up is packed with fun and enriching programs for patrons of all ages as well as opportunities to win some great prizes. As always, we want to extend our thanks to the Friends of the Library for sponsoring our summer reading program.

We are truly a library for all seasons here. Library Lane seems to embrace all the seasons with our spectacular views and sunsets. However, I have to play favorites a bit and say that we are a particularly lovely place to visit during the summer. This year, you’ll notice that we’ve been making some additions to our landscaping. Thanks to the Burlington Land Trust, we have joined the Pollinator Pathway initiative with the addition of a pollinator flower box. The Burlington Land Trust not only gifted us the box, but they filled it with flowers, too! We were also lucky to be a site during the United Way’s Day of Caring. A team of volunteers prepped our garden beds and planted a variety of beautiful perennial plants. We are so fortunate to have such wonderful partnerships and volunteers! Be sure to check out our beautiful grounds the next time you visit. And don’t forget to swing around back to our courtyard area and read at one our outdoor tables and benches or have some fun playing on our award-winning Sensory Walk!

For our cardholders, we have a special incentive for you. Refer a Burlington resident to sign up for a library card and you both will be entered to win a gift card to the Frozen Gnome. Help us grow our patronage!

As we countdown to Summer Reading, I encourage you to visit our online calendar to register for programs. Registration for most events will begin on June 1st unless otherwise noted. We look forward to sharing a fun summer with you all and, as always, look forward to seeing you at the library!
