Greetings Readers and Happy Fall!
As we turn the calendar and greet a new season, we, too, have many changes to look forward to at the library. You might need to clear some space on the refrigerator to make room for our calendar of events – we’ve expanded our program offerings to include many new programs – some of which were inspired by your suggestions on our Summer Reading survey!
The Friends of the Library will also be having a busy fall. They have several events to look forward to. On September 28th (6 PM), adults are invited to enjoy an evening with renowned Edgar Allan Poe impersonator, Campbell Harmon. Guests will enjoy recitations of some of Poe’s most famous works as well as details of his fascinating life and death. Themed refreshments will be served and special Poe-themed items will be available for purchase. Tickets for this event are $10 and may be purchased at the Circulation Desk.
Next up will be the Fall Book Sale on October 18th and 19th. Thousands of new and gently used books, CDs, DVDs, puzzles and vinyl records will be available for purchase. Find something for everyone at this sale!
As summer comes to a close, we will be welcoming a new Children’s librarian to our staff. Story times and activities for children will begin in October with a calendar of events coming in September. We hope that you stop by to enjoy the Children’s department and introduce yourself to our new librarian.
To check out all of our wonderful programs, please visit our online calendar. Registration for most events will begin on August 12th unless otherwise noted. As always, we look forward to seeing you at the library!
